Unveiled Bridal Gown

Modern Art was the theme and inspiration behind the Trendspot-hosted bridal fashion show at the Unveiled wedding event in Dallas, TX. However, this did not stop the appearance of dresses with romantic ruffles and all-over rosette appliqués. The major purpose of the show, as stated by the renowned The Wedding Guys, was being ahead of the trends so that even a bride with a date a year away would be right on-trend when the big day arrived.
The first noticeable trend appearing both on the runway and in the numerous vendor displays was varying shades of cream, ivory and even beige replacing the traditional stark white. This color gave a dream-like quality to dresses with multiple layers of tulle, many of which were a part of the large and lavish Stardust Celebrations display.
Another pleasing deviation from the traditional was the unique and distinguished necklines of the dresses featured in the show. Bringing us gracefully out of the era of plain halter, strapless or spaghetti straps, the bridal boutiques touted cap-sleeves, sweetheart necklines and racer back designs. This is not to say that there were not a number of more traditional white gowns to grab the interest of the bride that craves simple elegance.
Smaller, but still contemporary tweaks were present among the dresses as well. Intricate draping, pockets (!), feathers (!!), and floral overlays gave a sense of couture to many of the gowns featured. A surprising twist came from the bridesmaid dresses. Many of the dresses sported by the models were traditional floor-length gowns; however, the difference was in the design.
We’ve all seen the unflattering-on-anyone-above-a-size-6 dyeable satin gown and matching shoes look that haunts bridesmaids the world over, but at this show the bridesmaids could breathe a sigh of relief. There were empire-waist gowns that would have suited both a beach wedding and an estate affair without a hitch . The bridesmaid dresses were designed for the modern wedding, setting forth a new trend of flattering designs and colors that could easily be worn in roles outside of the bridesmaid.
If the main goal of the show was to take away at least one trend that will appear on red carpets, magazines and bridal boutiques everywhere, then the show gave a plethora of material from which to choose.
My opinion: You can never go wrong with feathers!
